Tajani to Calenda: "If we find a civic candidate in Milan, Azione could converge."

" We in Forza Italia have also had some convergences with Azione ," such as "in Basilicata, where, around the figure of our president Bardi, a broader coalition was created, and Azione was one of the key players in Vito Bardi's victory. This demonstrates that Forza Italia is always a source of dialogue and discussion, never of division, while maintaining our strong and solid position in government." This was stated by Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, and Secretary of Forza Italia, from the stage of Azzurra Libertà, the three-day celebration of the Forza Italia movement in San Benedetto del Tronto, introducing Carlo Calenda, leader of Azione.
"For example, in the city of Milan, where there's a desire for change, if we were to identify a civic candidate together, Azione could reach an agreement with us and converge on a civic candidate to provide concrete solutions to the city," he adds.
Upon his arrival at the rally, Calenda said that Azione and Forza Italia are "two parties whose DNA is that they don't foment violence, they don't consider their opponents an enemy, but rather as such: an opponent with whom one can engage in dialogue. And I invite you to consider them as such, because there is no conspiracy theory."
"Let's say I have more in common with them (the Forza Italia representatives)," he added, "their positioning is popular, moderate, and hopefully they support Ukraine as they have done so far. For me, that's already a big deal, their support for Ukraine."
